Scott Hughes

For nearly two decades, Scott Hughes has been dedicated to educating and inspiring high school students in Kansas City, Kansas. As a passionate construction educator, he utilizes a variety of instructional methods to introduce students to the fundamentals of building. Scott finds great fulfillment in giving students hands-on experience—watching them turn raw materials into finished structures, from the first cut of lumber to a fully constructed house. Beyond the classroom, he guides students through real-world applications of their skills, leading them in a two-year project where they collaborate to build a home from the ground up. His goal is not just to teach construction, but to instill confidence, craftsmanship, and a lifelong appreciation for the trade.
